Declan Grayson~8 months

It has been a busy month! Lots to report and lots going on!

Weight: Declan is 18 pounds 11 ounces and 28 inches long.

HI Daddy!

Doctor:  This deserves a new category all on its own.  Declan has been visiting the doctor often this month.  Thinking back, Declan has had an ear infection the whole month of November.  We went at the beginning of the month and he had an ear infection and it hasn't really gone away.  The doctor has even tried the hard core anti-biotic and even a hard core shot.  It truly hasn't helped and Declan is miserable.  He isn't very happy and is quite cranky at night when he feels worse.  This has affected his sleeping extremely because he doesn't feel well.  Declan has an appointment with the ENT doctor this week.  

Clothes: Declan is moving up in the world.  Declan wears mostly size 9-12  month clothing with some pants still wearing 6-9 month and is still wearing size 3 diapers.

Food:  I believe we have a better schedule now! Whew! With the help of my friend Lauren and the book she suggested, Mom's On Call.  I believe we are starting to get on track.  Declan is now eating every 4 hours from me or a bottle at daycare.  This means he is only getting 2 bottles at daycare.  I freaked out when I realized this! LOL.  He is honestly doing great and has even transitioned well even being sick.  Declan is now eating cereal/fruit an hour after nursing, eating lunch which is a veggie, eating dinner which is a veggie, too!  Declan is also starting to drink out of a sippy cup! He will drink either formula or water out of it and is doing pretty darn good! Declan is sure growing up! His favorites are banana and sweet potato! He will chow down when he is eating them.  Declan hates peas!  He literally gags himself and throws it up.  Fun times, for sure! ;)

Sleep:  Sleep has been okay.  Since he has been sick this past month, it hasn't been great.  He has been waking up a couple of times during the night and we have been trying to just give him his pacifier.  At times, we have had to rock him back to sleep after giving him Tylenol.  It is pitiful.  Declan has also been sleeping in a hammock type thing all these months.  I know.....bad mom award.  However, he sleep really well in it.  We will transition to the crib once we get his ear situation figured out.  That will be a time when we will probably have to do the cry it out...and I am terrified!! AHHHH!!

Activity: Declan is a mover and a shaker!  He loves playing with his toys on his activity mat and all the toys that we have accumulated over the months.  Declan likes to ride the horsey and be sang too.  He loves his new train, from cousin Brody.  We are hoping this helps him want to crawl.  Honestly, Declan could care less to crawl.  He is happy just scooting a bit on his rear or getting over onto his belly and acting like he is going to crawl. Declan loves to snuggle after naps.  This is momma's favorite time! :)  Declan also has been enjoying blowing bubbles with his spit and making motor boat sounds! He is really enjoying himself.

Personality: Declan's personality sure has grown!! Whew! He is still as sweet as ever, but you can sure tell the personality is developing.  Just this past week over Thanksgiving break, Declan has started saying momma.  I am in love!!! Love that he has said my name first, but he now screams it at the top of his lungs if he can't see me or wants me! Sweet, but oh so loud!  He really likes to talk and yell.  It is taking some getting used to for sure.  Declan really didn't talk much before now.  I love hearing him laugh and giggle.  It is my absolute favorite.  Declan just looks at me and smiles, melts my momma heart!

~does not like his ears hurting!!! BOO!

8 Month Milestones: 

~October 31 first Halloween ~multiple ear infections this month! YUCK
~November 6, first meeting with PAT (LOVE HER!)
~November 17 met Santa!
~November 17 first Christmas parade
~November 22 first Thanksgiving
~November 23 said Momma!
~November 25 playing clap/low 5 with momma
